BEIJING: Reently with identification by wild animal/plant testing center of State Forestry Bureau, Qingdao Customs announced that animal specimens seized by Dagang Customs House in inbound luggage were green turtles that are enlisted as class-II protected wild animal by China.
At the end of 2015, when the Customs officers inspected luggage of passengers fromShimonoseki, they noticed abnormal image scanned out for a parcel of one Chinese passenger. By open-case inspection, the officers found two suspected turtle specimens. As the passenger could not show relevant import license, the Customs detained those specimens and transferred them to anti-smuggling department for further investigation.
