BEIJING: The customs services of Belarus and China are actively developing bilateral cooperation, Chairman of the State Customs Committee Yuri Senko said as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Cui Qiming on 9 June, BelTA has learned.

“Our cooperation with the Customs of the People’s Republic of China has been strengthening recently. For example, a delegation of the General Administration of Customs of China led by its Minister Mr. Yu Guangzhou paid a visit to Belarus last month. For our part, a delegation of the State Customs Committee of Belarus visited the Chinese city of Xi’an to participate in the forum of heads of customs services of the countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt,” Yuri Senko said.
To improve the legal framework of the bilateral cooperation, a draft memorandum of understanding between the State Customs Committee of Belarus and the General Administration of Customs of China on the implementation of the agreement between the governments of the two countries on customs cooperation and mutual assistance was submitted for consideration to Chinese authorities in May 2015.
The State Customs Committee of Belarus jointly with the Chinese side prepared a draft agreement between the governments of Belarus and China on implementing a project for building and delivering an inspection system for the Belarusian customs service. The document was signed during the meeting between Yuri Senko and Cui Qiming on 9 June.
