BEIJING: China ODM shipments of TV products reached 11.62 million in the third quarter of 2015, up 38.8% on year, according to Sigmaintell Consulting.
The makers’ shipments for the first three quarters of 2015 increased 10.8% to 25.38 million, with many orders coming from outlets such as Wal-Mart and Best Buy. Approximately 70% of the makers’ customers were outside of China over the three-quarter period, the firm said.
In the third quarter, China makers also increased their panel purchases from Sharp and Panasonic, with the two companies accounting for 18% of overall supply due to reduced pricing for various applications.
Makers who are expected to benefit from the ongoing growth include Tsinghua Tongfang and KTC, the firm added. In 2015, China ODMs’ total shipments are expected to grow 13.6% on year to 33.77 million.
