China stocks higher at end of day, Shanghai Composite adds 4.72%

BEIJING: China stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Electricity, Utilities and Software & Computer Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite added 4.72%, while the SZSE Component index gained 5.08%.

The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Yingkou Port (SS:600317), which rose 10.08% or 0.650 points to trade at 7.100 at the close. Meanwhile, Ningbo Fuda (SS:600724) added 10.06% or 0.870 points to end at 9.520 and Haohua Energy (SS:601101) was up 10.05% or 1.080 points to 11.830 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sanxia Materia (SS:600293), which fell 5.66% or 1.160 points to trade at 19.330 at the close. Guotong (SS:600444) declined 4.73% or 1.330 points to end at 26.810 and Ningbo Orient Wires and Cables (SS:603606) was down 4.45% or 1.52 points to 32.60.

The top performers on the SZSE Component were Shanxi Xishan Coal and Electricity Power Co Ltd (SZ:000983) which rose 10.01% to 9.89, AVIC Aircraft Co Ltd (SZ:000768) which was up 10.00% to settle at 44.09 and Goertek Inc (SZ:002241) which gained 8.87% to close at 44.31.

The worst performers were Yantai Jereh Oilfield Services Group Co Ltd (SZ:002353) which was unchanged 0% to 44.55 in late trade, Suzhou Gold Mantis Construction Decoration Co Ltd (SZ:002081) which unchanged 0% to settle at 32.53 and BYD Co Ltd (SZ:002594) which was unchanged 0% to 76.00 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 912 to 37.

Shares in Yingkou Port (SS:600317) rose to all time highs; gaining 10.08% or 0.650 to 7.100. Shares in Ningbo Fuda (SS:600724) rose to 3-years highs; rising 10.06% or 0.870 to 9.520. Shares in Haohua Energy (SS:601101) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 10.05% or 1.080 to 11.830. Shares in Yantai Jereh Oilfield Services Group Co Ltd (SZ:002353) unchanged to 52-week highs; unchanged 0% or 0 to 44.55. Shares in AVIC Aircraft Co Ltd (SZ:000768) rose to all time highs; rising 10.00% or 4.01 to 44.09. Shares in Goertek Inc (SZ:002241) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 8.87% or 3.61 to 44.31. Shares in BYD Co Ltd (SZ:002594) unchanged to all time highs; unchanged 0% or 0 to 76.00.

The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 3.78% to 30.58.
