BEIJING: China stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Electricity, Utilities and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares higher while losses in the Life Insurance, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite gained 0.34% to hit a new 3-years high, while the SZSE Component index lost 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Gd Power (SS:600795), which rose 10.11% or 0.460 points to trade at 5.010 at the close. Meanwhile, Hainan Airline (SS:600221) added 10.09% or 0.440 points to end at 4.800 and Greattown-B (SS:900940) was up 10.06% or 0.086 points to 0.941 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wenfeng Chain (SS:601010), which fell 7.18% or 1.420 points to trade at 18.370 at the close. Fengfan Power (SS:601700) declined 6.79% or 2.670 points to end at 36.670 and SEC Electric Machinery Co Ltd (SS:603988) was down 6.54% or 3.63 points to 51.85.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were BOE Technology Group Co Ltd (SZ:000725) which rose 5.15% to 4.90, Yunnan Baiyao Group Co Ltd (SZ:000538) which was up 3.68% to settle at 72.60 and Luzhou Lao Jiao Co Ltd (SZ:000568) which gained 2.33% to close at 25.43.
