BEIJING: China Telecom Corp. CHA, -0.26% Tuesday reported a 6.3% rise in net profit for the first half of the year, partly because of higher revenue.
China’s major mobile operator said its net profit for the six months ended June 30 rose to 11.67 billion yuan (US$1.75 billion) from CNY10.98 billion a year earlier, while its first-half operating revenue rose 7.2% to CNY176.83 billion. The telecom carrier didn’t recommend an interim dividend.
