The provision and rehabilitation of locomotives and modernisation of track and communication system are the other sectors of Chinese investment, said a statement issued by the PR. “The feasibility study of various projects has already been completed. Almost a year has been passed to complete initial homework on the projects and now the work will start on them.”

An official of the PR said the rail link from Gwadar to Karachi will also be established. Both sides have also finalised the timelines, so these railway projects could be accomplished within the tenure of PML-N led regime, he added.

Earlier, the Chinese delegation arrived railways headquarter from Islamabad via Railcar and welcomed by railways CEO Javid Anwar and other officials. The delegation also visited the railways locomotive workshop and appreciated the work performance over there.
