China’s December magnesium alloy exports rise

BEIJING: China’s magnesium alloy exports in December 2017 were 10,491 mt, up 4.1% year on year and up 32.6% month on month, data released Saturday by the country’s General Administration of Customs showed. For December 2017, China’s top 10 export destinations for magnesium alloy were the Netherlands (2,949 mt), Canada (2,604 mt), Romania (956 mt), Spain (492 mt), Croatia (475 mt), Taiwan (451 mt), South Korea (396 mt), US (318 mt), France (244 mt) and Japan (234 mt). Combined exports to these 10 destinations totaled 9,119 mt, representing 86.9% of China’s total magnesium alloy exports in December. For 2017, export of magnesium alloy totaled 118,242 mt, up 1.3% from 2016.
In 2017, China’s top 10 export destinations for magnesium alloy were the Netherlands (41,283 mt), Canada (20,132 mt), South Korea (7,287 mt), Romania (7,179 mt), US (6,299 mt), Slovenia (5,780 mt), Japan (5,544 mt), Taiwan (5,083 mt), Spain (3,399 mt) and Italy (2,931 mt).
Combined exports to these 10 destinations totaled 104,917 mt, representing 88.7% of China’s total magnesium alloy exports for 2017.
