Chinese company to build 1,400MW coal-based power plant

ISLAMABAD: China’s Shanghai Electric Group will build a 1,400MW coal-based electricity plant under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Private Power and Infrastructure Boar’s (PPIB) meeting have approved the project, which would start generating electricity by 2017-18. The meeting was informed that Shanghai Electric would install four power units of 350MW each at Thar.
