Chinese Customs seizes smuggled cigarettes worth CNY 640,000

BEIJING: Zhanjiang Customs District, along with Zhanjiang Tobacco Monopoly Bureau, intercepted an in-truck cigarette smuggling and seized 160 cartons of “Nanyang Double Happiness” cigarettes, worth CNY 640,000. It is the first in-truck cigarette-smuggling case cracked by Zhanjiang Customs District this year in joint anti-smuggling campaign.

As a law-enforcement member of tobacco anti-smuggling campaign in Zhanjiang City, the Customs pays high attention to countering the smuggling. This year, more than 2,160 cartons of smuggled cigarettes, totally worth CNY 10 million, have been seized by the Customs in maintaining the stress on the crackdown.
