LAHORE: A 14-member Chinese delegation, led by Wu Jingsi, has visited the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and gave a detailed presentation on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The delegation gave presentation during a meeting, which was headed by LCCI President Ijaz A. Mumtaz, while Vice President Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi also spoke on the occasion.

Jingsi said that CPEC is proof of the long standing friendship between China and Pakistan. “Economic globalisation and regional integration has provided enormous opportunities for further cooperation between China and Pakistan,” said Jingsi. “Pakistan is an ideal destination of foreign investment and a top priority for Chinese investors.” He added that Pakistan had made attractive investment policies which provided several investment opportunities.

Speaking on the occasion, the LCCI president said that an obvious increase in the frequency of Chinese delegations to Pakistan makes the country’s potential apparent.

“LCCI members are keen to interact with Chinese delegates from Jiangmen municipality for making joint efforts aimed at boosting bilateral trade and economic relations.”

Mumtaz said that in the context of ongoing projects of CPEC, the need and importance of private contacts has mounted. In this scenario, he said, the roles of chambers of commerce and organisations like Jiangmen Foreign & Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau have widened.
