BEIJING: In China, October ethanol imports slumped from the all time high achieved in September to 68,961 cubic meters, down 43% from September. As during the previous month, October exports were supplied predominantly by the US while Brazil’s volume fell by 93% on the month to just 3,164 cu m.

US imports were down 33% to 27,805 cu m. Import levies are expected from January, so exports are likely to start tapering off in December. Undenatured ethanol imports rebounded by 66% in October to 37,990 cu m, with nearly all of it supplied by Pakistan.
