KARACHI: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on Friday granted post-arrest bail to a suspect in a foreign-origin cigarettes smuggling case.
Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi granted bail to Saeed Muhammad on surety bonds of Rs 100,000.
According to the prosecution, the Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Hyderabad had seized 30 cartons of foreign origin cigarettes with Suzuki pickup approximately valued at Rs 3.1 million involving duty/taxes to the tune of Rs 2 million. Driver Saeed was taken into custody and an FIR was registered against him.
