Citizen moves SHC for release order of impounded oil tanker

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) issued notices to the customs officials and deputy attorney general on a constitutional petition filed by Amanullah of Muhammad Younas, seeking release order of his oil tanker bearing registration number: BF-9577 seized by customs officials.

While the hearing of petition, a two-member bench, comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Umer Sial also directing them to file their respective para wise comments on next date of hearing.

Earlier, counsel for the petitioner stated that petitioner is lawful owner of the above mentioned vehicle however officials of the customs department seized it without shown any lawful reason.

Citing Secretary Finance and Director, Directorate General Customs Intelligence and Investigation-FBR as respondents, petitioner pleaded the court to direct them to release his vehicle immediately.

He also pleaded the court may restrain them from taking any coercive action against him till final order of this petition.
