KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has directed customs authorities to submit comments on a constitutional petition filed by Muhammad Usman, seeking release of his Toyota Mark X bearing registration number BEN-684 seized by customs officials. A two-member bench, comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Omar Sial, was hearing the petition.

Earlier, counsel for the petitioner stated that officials of the customs department intercepted the vehicle and the diver was asked to produce the legal documents. He said that the driver produced all documents, but the officials seized the vehicle without any lawful reasons. Being aggrieved, he moved the Customs Appellate Tribunal which directed the customs department to release the vehicle, however, the order was not being complied with by the officials.
