LAHORE: Customs authorities at Land Freight Unit Wagha Lahore have decided to shift the clearance process of fresh items like fruits and vegetables over Web Based One Customs (Weboc).

The WeBoc was launched here at Wagha border in December 2014 to replace with One Custom, the old software. Authorities at Wagha did not shift all items over WeBoc just to facilitate the traders and agents and shift only one item soya bean.

Talking to Customs Today, authorities said that multi stage strategy has been adopted to replace the old software with new one. Following the strategy, the clearance process of only soya bean was shifted over WeBoc, they added. Now, it has been decided to take second step of the procedure regarding the software and clearance of fresh items will be done over WeBoc as the traders and agents at LFU Wagha have learnt to handle the software to much extent, they informed.
