KARACHI: The processing and clearance of vehicles through WeBOC would be closely monitored for 90 days to ensure that assessment made through the system is correct and not violating Trade Policy Order.

A post release verification by the Model Customs Collectorate of Appraisement-East said that since the launching of a new automated module for the processing and clearance of vehicles through WeBOC, a printout of the hard copy of processed GDs on random basis will be audited manually by the group/officials concerned, duly signed by PA (Group) to ensure that assessment made through the system is correct and is not in violation of Trade Policy Order.

A folder of such GDs will be maintained on monthly basis. In addition, the ADC incharge will closely monitor the implementation of this Standing Order as well as clearance of used vehicles through the WeBOC system during this transient phase of 90 days without exception starting 10.8.2014 after which it will be done on random basis.

The post release verification further said that its extent will be decided by Additional Collector as a standing arrangement. It will obviously be in addition to post clearance audit by Directorate of Post Clearance Audit, it concluded.
