Clearing agents seek time to renew licences

KARACHI: Clearing agents have requested the customs officials to give them time for renewal of licences.

Talking to Customs Today at the Customs House, they said the renewal date had already expired on 31 October.

“We had earlier requested the officials concerned that a good number of agents had failed to submit their papers owing to several reasons, including Muharram holidays, but our request was not heard.”

Clearing Agent Muhammad Munir said the Customs Department should give one-week time to submit papers for the renewal of licences. He said customs agents were worried and running from pillar to post to get their licences renewed.
