Closing: KSE 100-index recovers 424pts, up 1.26% as rupee strengthens

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange benchmark 100-index gained 423.87 points or 1.26 percent to reach 33961.29 points and volume of 137,175,840 shares on Thursday.

Earlier, the Karachi stocks, in a bid to recoup overnight losses, gained mammoth 352 points and reached 33889.74 points level.

On Wednesday, the shares in the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) ended down in a volatile session. The benchmark 100-share index at the KSE closed down 0.77 percent, or 261.38 points, at 33,537.42.

High and low were 34014.46 and 33537.42 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 137,175,840 shares.
