Closing: KSE suffers 229pts loss, down 0.66% amid changing political scenario

High and Low were 34564.58 and 34159.11 points with total trade volume of 160,030,920.

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange benchmark 100-index lost 228.90points or 0.66 percent to reach 34203.99 points and volume of 160,030,920 shares on Wednesday.

Till midday, the benchmark 100-index faced another gloomy day and shed 201 points to reach 34231.19 points, despite reduction in political tension in the country.

The political tension has decreased between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and MQM after Altaf Hussain’s sorry to Shireen Mizari. The PTI has also called countrywide protest today, which could further halt the economic activities in the country.

The High and Low were 34564.58 and 34159.11 points with total trade volume of 160,030,920.

Top three traders are Jah.Sidd Co with a volume of 25,091,500 and price per share of 22.60 (1.01), K-Electric Limited with a volume 17,921,000 of price per share of 8.44 (0.12) and Fauji Cement with a volume 9,907,000 of price per share of 32.00 (0.27).

Top three advancers are Nestle Pak. with price per share 10800.00 (200.00), Colgate Palmolive with price per share of 1848.00 (87.50) and Unilever Foods with price per share of 9800.00 (76.00).

Top three decliners are Bata (Pak) with price per share of 3756.01 (-142.99), Exide (PAK) with price per share of 1617.50 (-32.50) and Engro Corp with price per share of 281.30 (-13.05).
