Closure of markets till 8pm: Rawalpindi traders urge govt to take business community into confidence

RAWALPINDI: The business community of Rawalpindi has urged the federal and provincial governments to take the traders from across the country in confidence by convening a meeting of all stakeholders on the issue of closure of shops till 8pm.

The representatives of all the trader associations of the city and Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) said this during a meeting, which was participated by Sheikh Saddique, Shahid Ghafoor Paracha, Sheikh Hafeez, Ch Iqbal, Zafar Qadri, Tariq Jadoon, Arshad Awan, Zahid Bakhtwari, Ikaram Abbasi, Fiaz Qureshi, Rana Abdul Qadoos, and executive members and other members of the chamber.

Presiding over the meeting, RCCI President Syed Asad Mashhadi said that the RCCI always preferred consultation with trade association and today’s meeting was held just to announce joint resolution on the issue of closure of shops at 08:00pm as decided by the government.

Trade associations and RCCI agreed that the government should not make separate rules for cities and provinces and evolve a joint rule for whole the country but with the consultation of traders.
