Collector Adjudication-I Asif Marghoob Siddiqui reviews departmental performance

KARACHI: The newly appointed Collector of the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I, Asif Marghoob Siddiqui, called an introductory meeting of the officers at his office.

The meeting was attended by the additional collectors, deputy collectors and assistant collectors of the Collectorate. During the meeting, Siddiqui reviewed the performance of the Collectorate and discussed the pending cases. He told the officials to enhance their performance to dispose of the cases coming from different field formation Collectorates.

On the occasion, officials briefed the Collector Adjudication-I about the cases which have been decided and the cases which are pending.

The officers further stated that the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I has adjudicated around 35cases altogether and recovered millions of rupees evaded duty taxes by imposing fine/penalty on the importers and clearing agents.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Federal Board of Revenue-FBR was recently transferred Asif Marghoob Siddiqui from the Directorate General of Customs Intelligence & Investigation-FBR, Karachi Region to the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I.

The Collector of Customs Adjudication-I Asif Marghoob Siddiqui was previously served as Director of Customs Intelligence and Investigation-FBR Karachi Region, while an officer of Grade BS-20 Ms Surriya Butt was previously served as Collector of Customs Adjudication-I.
