Collector Adjudication issues show cause to M/s Maqsood & Brothers

LAHORE:  Collector of Customs Adjudication Ambreen Ahmed Tarar has issued a show cause notice to the owner of non duty paid items.

According to details M/s Maqsood Brothers (NTN 1811840) imported 128 consignments of potatoes through their clearing agent M/s Ali Enterprises 102 McLeod Road  during the above mentioned period. The importer had deliberately claimed the undue benefits by using SRO 448 (I) 2014 dated 2.5.2014 and caused a loss of Rs2,55,72,051/- to the national exchequer.

After detecting tax evasion, Customs Ajudication Collector Ambreen Ahmed Tarar issued a show cause notice to the owner of these non duty paid goods and summoned the management of M/s Maqsood Brothers on 29.8.2017 at 11.00 a.m. at Custom House Nabha Road, Lahore to explain his position failing which ex-parte proceedings will take place which will led to seizure of these non duty paid goods.

It is necessary to mention here that Customs Adjudication department already expedited its efforts to conclude the hearing of pending cases on priority basis.
