LAHORE: Collectorate of Adjudication Lahore has issued Order in Original (ONO) in confiscation of Porsche Cayenne Jeep registration NO BD/ 2678 and judged that the allegations leveled against the respondents were correct as the respondent party failed to produce any document against the seized vehicle.
Collector Adjudication Lahore Muhammad Sadiq said that he examined the case record besides giving ample opportunities to the respondents but only one respondent namely Mian Naghman appeared once only who failed to produce any document in his defense showing lawful procession or legal import of the seized vehicle.
The collector adjudication said that on the merits of available record the charges leveled against are established and accordingly seized Porsches Cayenne Jeep 4.5 V-8 under Customs Act, 1969.
The respondent party can appeal against the order of the collectorate of Adjudication at the Customs Appellate Tribunal within sixty days after receipt of the order.
The Porsches Cayenne Jeep 4.5 V-8 is confiscated under Customs Act 1969 as it was non-duty paid and was seized by the Dircetorate of Customs Adjudication Lahore at the
Defence Housing Authority in 2014.
The customs authorities upon the request of the accused gave time to produce the documents but to no avail.
Naghman on the other hand claimed that he purchased the Porsche Cayenne Jeep from his father’s friend for Rs 79,00,000.
