Collector Adjudication Raja Tahir hears 7 cases involving Rs 40.87m tax

FAISALABAD: Collector Customs Adjudication Raja Tahir Majeed has heard seven different cases against suspects involved in smuggling of cotton yarn, foreign origin cloth, Nisan truck, cigarettes, generator 1000 (KVA) and a Hino oil tanker.

As per details, M/s Ahsan Traders was charged for smuggling foreign origin cloth worth Rs 4.3 million, Muhammad Azam was allegedly involved in duty and taxes evasion of Rs 4.91 million, Nissan truck was smuggled into the country without paying Rs 3.17 million worth of customs duty. Farhan Saleem was found involved in smuggling of foreign origin generator 1000 KVA.

Meanwhile, Raja Tahir Majeed heared case of Muhammad Latif involved in evading tax worth Rs 5.46 million as the accused has brought Hino oil tanker into the country without paying customs duty. Collector Raja Tahir heard the case filed against Muhammad Touseef for smuggling Toyota Mark X car.

Furthermore, Collector Customs Adjudication Raja Tahir Majeed also heard two other cases involving duty worth Rs 18.6 million. These cases are forwarded by Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Faisalabad and PCA Lahore.

These cases were registered against accused Tanveer Ahmad for smuggling foreign cigarettes worth Rs 6.36 million and M/s Shengshan for smuggling cotton yarn worth Rs 12.24 million
