Collector Adjudication Rashid Habib orders to confisticate Toyota Coaster

ISLAMABAD: Additional Collector of Adjudication Rashid Habib Khan has directed to seize non-duty paid Toyota Coaster bearing registration No BRA-186. He also issued Order-in-Original (OnO) No.39 in this regard.

Sources said that the deputy collector received information that a vehicle bearing Zhob number plate is plying on roads of Islamabad. He constituted a customs team under the supervision of Superintendent Customs Zargham Dil. The team intercepted a vehicle in Rewat Road. The vehicle was being driven by Zulfiqar Ali son of Noor Mohammad who is a resident of Kharian, district Gujrat. Customs team asked him to produce legal documents regarding the possession of vehicle but he failed to provide the same.

The Customs team seized the vehicle and sent chassis and engine numbers of the vehicle to forensic laboratory. During the testing process, it was revealed that the chassis number is tampered. The Customs team seize the vehicle and forward the case to the Customs adjudication.

Inspector Chaudhary Mohammad Safdar and Asif Mehmood take part in court proceedings on behalf of customs while Raja Haseeb represented the owner of the vehicle and adopts the stance that his client produced legal documents to customs team but they did not returned the same. Additional Collector after listening arguments of both side Additional Collector Rashid Habib ordered to seize the vehicle vide customs act 1969.
