LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Zafar Akhtar has summoned a suspect in detention of a smuggled Toyota Land Cruiser V-8.
According to sources, the Land Cruiser V-8 was detained by Customs Intelligence and Investigation from Sheraz Mazhar son of Mufti Mazhar Hussain near Fortress Stadium, the Mall, Lahore. The customs authorities demanded legal documents from the driver but he failed to produce any document in this regard. He told the customs team that the vehicle belonged to his friend Aizaz, who is a proprietor of a showroom M/s Car Studio, Samanabad.
The collectorate fixed the hearing date of case as May 25, 2016 at the Customs House Lahore. The accused has been asked to file a written response on or before the fixed date.
The show cause said that in case the respondent failed to avail the opportunity the case will be decided on the basis of evidence and material available on record.
