Collector Ahmad Reza for curbing money laundering, smuggling at airport

SIALKOT: Model Customs Collectorate Collector Ahmed Reza Khan has directed the Customs Preventive staff to curtail money laundering and smuggling incidents at Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL).

He issued directions during a meeting with the officials here at the Customs House. Deputy Collectors Waheed Anwar Abro and Muhammad Hanif, Superintendents Sohail Butt, Sardar Manzoor, Muhammad Naseem and others were present in the meeting.

He also directed the officials to get help of Airport Security Force (ASF) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) when they needed to handle any matter or control smuggling of currency and other items

Talking about Hajj flight, which are going to start on August 24 from Sialkot, the collector instructed the staff deputed at the airport to deal with the Hajjis in a polite way, besides educating the passengers about customs laws.

He also directed the staff to check luggage of Hajjis carefully as it could be used for smuggling of various items.

He said that a complaint cell would be set up at the airport by the customs department, which will collects complaints against Customs Preventive staff and resolve these complaints on the spot without any delay.
