Collector Ahmed Rauf constitutes special car cell to stop smuggling of vehicles

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Collector Ahmed Rauf constituted a special car cell to curb smuggling of non-duty paid vehicles and deputed two inspectors in order to streamline working with regard to operations against non-duty paid/smuggled vehicles.

According to notification, Inspector Muhammad Muratib Mushtaq currently performing his duties at chief office customs (central) is directed to report to Collectorate of Customs Preventive car cell with immediate effect.

Inspector Waheed Iqbal Bhatti, currently posted at law branch of Customs House, is also directed to report to car cell (in addition to his duties as transport officer) with immediate effect and until further orders. Both the above-mentioned officials will coordinate with other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) during their new duties.

It is important to mention here that Collector Customs Preventive Ahmed Rauf directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy towards non-duty paid vehicles which are also being used in smuggling of goods and narcotics.
