Collector Ahmed Rauf lauds local traders for launching mega projects

SIALKOT: Customs Collector Ahmed Rauf has appreciated the role of local business community to introduce two mega projects Sialkot Dry-port Trust and Sialkot International Airport on self-bases.

He expressed these views while addressing a gathering during a reception, hosted by SIAL in his honour at Sialkot International Airport. He said that custom department would provide all-out support to local business community and remove all hurdles in this regard. He expressed pleasure over the services of Custom Official, Yaseen Tahir who played a key role for establishment of Sialkot Dry-port Trust and gave the idea of Sialkot International Airport.

He announced to start Green Chanel at Sialkot International Airport to redress the grievances of exporters. He also issued Rs 1.3 billion cheques of rebate to exporters. Khawar Anwar Khuwaja, Chairman SIAL, while addressing the gathering, said Custom Department should play a key role in enhancing imports and exports of Sialkot region.

He said that Sialkot International Airport situated at very important place for Europe and Far East and after completion of Shahbaz Pur Bridge and Motorway, the airport would get more importance.
