LAHORE: Collector of Customs Appeals Asif Mehmood Jah asked lawyers to file their appeals in Urdu language in accordance with verdict of the
Supreme Court.
The Collector of Appeals issued a circular containing instructions in this regard and circulated and festooned against the notice board of Customs House and outside his court.
The Collector also urged the general public to file their appeals in the national language.
Earlier, the Collector following the verdict of the Supreme Court to use Urdu as official language, issued first ONO in Urdu language and also become the first Collector in the history of Federal Board of Revenue, it is said.
The verdict in Urdu by the Collector of Appeals was widely hailed in and out of the customs department.
