Collector Appeals Asif Mehmood Jah hears 4 important cases

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Appeals Collector Asif Mehmood Tuesday heard four important cases of import disputes, clearance, smuggling and others involving millions of rupees duty and taxes.

According to the details, collector Appeals heard the case of M/s Sigma International which is involved in import of medical equipment’s on fake and forged airways bill and were directed to pay evaded duty and taxes.

Muhammad Arif’s case in which 548 kilograms of art silk cloths were confiscated while M/s Hameed & Sons, about import of cold water bottle who evaded taxes and the Collectorate of appeals directed them to pay evaded taxes and duties.

The case of M/s A.T.M. Traders, Faisalabad was heard which was detected by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation of Faisalabad.

The accused was charged with mis-declaration of items, weight, quality, disqualification and the Collectorate released the items on 35 percent of duty and taxes and a fine.  The cases were heard at office of Collector of Appeals at Customs House Lahore at Nabha Road Lahore.
