Collector Appeals Dr. Asif hears four important cases today

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Appeal Collector Dr. Asif Mehmood Jah will hear four important appeals filed by different petitioners on Wednesday (today).

According to details, M/s Universal Logistics Services (Private) Limited, which imported Boucher paper, was found involved in mis-declaration and evasion of duty and taxes, while M/s Chaudhary Muhammad Siddique and Sons also filed an appeal. The petitioner is involved in tax evasion.

The third appeal is filed by M/s Rachna Agricultural Business. The company imported Hybrid Bajra Seeds 626 bags and found involved in tax evasion. The tax authorities issued them notice asking them to clear outstanding dues at the earliest but the company failed to clear outstanding tax amount.

The fourth appeal was filed by M/s Arain Seed Store. The petitioner also imported different kinds of seeds and found involved in mis-declaration and tax evasion. Customs Adjudication already rejected their petitions. Now the company filed an appeal before Collector of Customs Appeal which will be scheduled for hearing today.

It is necessary to mention here that after the start of current Fiscal Year 2017-18 Collectorate of Customs Appeal expedited their efforts to conclude the hearing of pending cases on priority basis.
