Collector Appraisement-South Abdul Rashid Shaikh seeks three-year record of vehicles clearance

KARACHI: Chief Collector Appraisement-South Abdul Rashid Shaikh has directed Collector Appraisement-East Ashhad Jawwad to submit the record of vehicles which had been cleared for the last three years.

According to the source, Chief Collector Appraisement South Abdul Rashid Shaikh ordered this following directives from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Source said that the FBR was receiving complaints regarding the tax evasion during the clearance of vehicles.

On the directives of the Chief Collector Appraisement-South, Jawwad called a meeting of the car cell officials and directed them to submit the record of clearance.

Collector Appraisement East also directed the car group authorities to make sure that the appropriate valuation ruling is applied during the clearance of the vehicles of different categories, added source.

The source further stated that the authorities will start investigation the data of the vehicles being cleared according to the given valuation ruling to avoid the crime of tax evasion in the future.

On the other hand the car group will be submitting the record of the last three years on the clearing of the different categories vehicles to the Collector Appraisement East Asshad Jawwad who will table the report to the Chief Collector Appraisement South Abdul Rashid Shaikh. After reviewing the report, Chief Collector Appraisement South Abdul Rashid Shaikh will send it to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

On the directives of the Chief Collector Appraisement South Abdul Rashid Shaikh, Customs Collectorate Appraisement West and Customs Collectorate Appraisement Port Muhammad Bin Qasim has already started compiling the reports regarding the clearance of the different vehicles during the last three years.
