Earlier, the importers had held a meeting with the collector and informed him about the problems being faced by them at the terminal. They said that they have to pay extra charges in terms of demurrage due to delay in clearance of their consignments. The collector assured the importers that their issues would be resolved soon.

Dr Qureshi has told the terminal operator to improve their service. The General Manager of KICT assured Dr Qureshi that the issues of the importers would be resolved soon.

It may be mentioned here that the importers’ delegation had first tried to contact the KICT authorities, but all their efforts went in vain and eventually they took their grievances to the Collector Appraisement-West, who has taken positive measures in order to resolve their issues.
