Collector Appraisement West lauds performance of staff during first six months of FY2016-17

KARACHI: The Collector of Customs Appraisement West Dr Farid Iqbal Qureshi has expressed his satisfaction over the revenue collection by the collectorate during the first two quarters — from July to December 2016 — of the fiscal year 2016-17.

Talking to Customs Today at his office, Collector Appraisement West Dr Farid Iqbal Qureshi was of the view that the officials of the collectorate have shown splendid performance and have achieved the revenue collection targets during the first six months of the FY2016-17. He hoped that the officials would continue their efforts to achieve the assigned targets in the next two quarters.

Elaborating the performance of the collectorate, Collector Dr Farid Iqbal Qureshi said that the collectorate collected Rs 32 billion during the last month of the second quarters i.e. December against the revenue target of Rs 11 billion.

It is pertinent to mention here that Customs Appraisement West was collected Rs14billion in share of customs duty (CD), Rs12billion and Rs440million in share of sales tax (ST), Rs4billion and Rs960million in share of income tax (IT) and Rs160million in share of federal excise duty (FED). The Collector-Appraisement West hoped that the collectorate would continue its efforts in the future.
