KARACHI: Collector, Model Customs Collectorate MCC Appraisement West, Dr Jawwad Uwais Agha, in a bid to ensure recoveries of more than Rs 1.5 billion from tax evaders, has appointed Assistant Collector Arsalan Majeed Rana as a Recovery Officer to do the job.
The officer will pursue the recovery drive against tax evaders, short-paid taxes and duties, and the cases referred to the MCC Appraisement West by the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication after issuing Orders-in-Original (ONOs), encashment of bank guarantees, securities etc.
The officials told Customs Today that Collector Dr Jawwad Uwais Agha personally met with AC Arsalan Majeed Rana and he was told that all efforts be put up to ensure each and every single penny is recovered from the tax evaders in this regard.
