Collector Ashad Jawad chairs revenue review meeting

KARACHI: Collector Customs Appraisement East Ashad Jawad chaired a meeting to review the performance of the department during the first quarter of the fiscal year 2016-2017 with regards to the revenue target achievements.

According to the source, the officials gave a comprehensive briefing on the collection of the revenue during the first quarter of the fiscal year 2016-2017.

The source also informed that during the meeting the revenue target achievement in term of customs duty, sales tax, income tax, and federal excise duty (FED) as well as the performance of the officers were also evaluated.

The statistics presented in the meeting revealed that during the first quarter of the fiscal year 2016-2017 the shortfall in the collection of the federal excise duty (FED) was reported and the target was not achieved as given by the authority.

The source also informed that in the end of the first quarter of the fiscal year 2016-2017 Customs Appraisement East surpassed the revenue target in term of customs duty, sales tax and in the collection of the income tax.

The authorities of the Customs Appraisement East brief the Collector Ashad Jawad about the future strategy which would be followed by the Collectorate in order to sustain the revenue recovery in future as well.

During the meeting special revenue recovery parameters was also discussed to cop up the attempts of revenue collection.
