Collector Ashad Jawad directs for early clearance of consignment at PICT

KARACHI: Collector Customs Collectorate Appraisement East Ashad Jawad takes revisionary steps to ensure early clearance of the imported consignment.

According to the source, reacting on the several complaints loadged by the importers, the Collector Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Appraisement East Ashad Jawad has directed to the officers for the early clearance and release of the imported consignments without taking extra time at the Pakistan International Containers Terminal (PICT).

The source also informed that the daily report has also been sought on the activity at PICT by the Collector Ashad Jawad, whereas has asked the officers that the issues of the grounding must be informed so that terminals operators can be instructed for early resolving the issues faced by the importers.

Daily report of the Pakistan International Containers Terminal (PICT) examiners and appraisers officers must be also be filed as well as speedy clearance of the imported consignment must be ensured, the Collector Director Ashad Jawad directed the officers.

The importers complained the Collector Ashad Jawad that the officer are taking extra time in examining the imported consignments due to which demurrages and penalties are being imposed resulting enhanced cost of the imported goods.

Collector Customs Collectrorate Appraisement East Ashad Jawad recently called on a meeting of the additional collectors, deputy collectors and assistant collectors and asked them to ensure zero pendency at any cost and the monthly overall progress of the officers deputed at Pakistan International Containers Terminal (PICT) must be checked.
