Collector Dr Farid Iqbal Qureshi seeks record of pending court cases till December 5

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-West Dr Farid Iqbal Qureshi has sought details of cases pending in different courts in order to expedite the tax recovery process.

Chairing a meeting of the officers of the collectorate, Dr Qureshi has given a deadline to the officials concerned to provide details of pending cases by December 5, 2016 so that speedy action would be taken to recover amounts stuck up in pending cases.

The Collector Appraisement West has also asked the officers to utilize each and every mean to collect the details of legal cases.

The officers were briefed the Collector- Appraisement West that billions of worth cases are in pending in different courts of law, as the prosecution was not strong enough to sum up the conclusion of cases.

The Collector Dr Farid Iqbal Qureshi further asked to assign the cases of Pakistan Customs to competent solicitors, so that quick outcome would be got and enhance the revenue recovery status.

The officers of the Collectorate informed the collector that the list of the pending cases is already being prepared and it would be submitted before the collector by December-5.
