Collector Saifuddin Junejo orders officials to strictly check E-Form in export consignments

KARACHI: Collector Customs-Export Dr Saifuddin Junejo has asked the Collectorate to further tighten up the process of verification in connection with E-Form for export consignments.

Sources informed Customs Today that the Collector Customs-Export has called a meeting of the Collectorate officials and directed them to ensure strict and detailed verification of E-Form for export consignments.

It is pertinent to mention here that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has already directed all the commercial banks to verify the authenticity of E-Form filed by the exporters for their export consignments.

During the meeting, the Collector Customs Export further asked the authorities concerned to issue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in this regard and also asked them to ensure strict compliance on those SOPs.

The sources further informed that the authorities concerned of the Collectorate including additional collectors and deputy collectors would start their working in order to formulate the SOPs in more effective manner.

It is pertinent to mention here that due to strict and vigilant approach of Customs authorities, the use of fake/forged Form-E in exporting consignments have been declined at great extent and no such thing is being came into notice in recent days, which is surely an efficient effort of the authorities concerned of Customs Export.
