KARACHI: The Collector Customs Exports Dr Saifuddin Junejo, who is also having an additional charge of Collector Preventive has asked the authorities of the Collectorate to generate a comprehensive list of Export Oriented Units (EOUs) for scrutinizing the export related data, it is learnt here.
The sources informed Customs Today that the Collector Exports in order to keep strict vigilance and surveillance over the export consignments have also directed the authorities to also submit a list of EOUs before him within a week.
The sources further said that the step is being taken to avoid mis-declaration and under-invoicing in export consignments, as recently the Customs authorities have seized some cases of tax evasion and mis-declaration in export consignments which were later investigated by the authorities of Customs Intelligence and Investigation-FBR.
The sources further informed this scribe that the additional collectors and deputy collectors have started their working in compiling a detailed list of EOUs in order to scrutinize the export data in recent days.
