Collector Farid Iqbal to chair meeting of Appraisement-West today

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-West Collector Dr Farid Iqbal Qureshi has called a departmental meeting today (Monday) in order to review revenue collection made during first quarter of new fiscal year 2016-17.

Sources said that Collector Dr Farid Iqbal Qureshi has summoned a meeting of the additional collectors, deputy collectors and assistant collectors and also asked them to present a detailed briefing about the performance of their respective zones in revenue collection.

The sources further said that the collector would also review the performance of Post Release Verification (PRV) Unit and Appraising Intelligence Branch (AIB) of the collectorate during the meeting.

The collector would also discuss the policy with the authorities concerned of the collectorate for revenue collection during new fiscal year 2016-17.

It may be mentioned here that the PRV and AIB departments of the collectorate are doing utmost efforts in connection with detecting the revenue losses.

It is pertinent to mention here that it would be a first formal meeting of the authorities concerned of Appraisement-West in new fiscal year. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has also directed the customs officers across the country to keep vigilant eye over revenue generation and recovery.
