Collector Imran Bokhari recovers 10 tons of betel nuts worth Rs20m from Sakraan

KHUZDAR: Under the dynamic leadership of Collector Imran Bokhari, Collectorate of Customs Enforcement team recovered 10 tons of fine quality betel nuts from a godown located in Sakraan area near Hub City. The value of the seized betel nuts is around Rs20 million in the local market.

Sources told Customs Today that in pursuance of directions issued by Collector Customs Khuzdar, Imran Bokhari, on 10.10.2023 around 10 pm staff of Customs Check Post Khurkhera with the assistance of local police raided the gowdown located in Sakraan area near Hub city.

During the said raid, Customs anti-smuggling squad seized huge quantity of very fine quality betel nuts (10 tons), which was kept in locked rooms of godown.

Customs anti-smuggling squad took the possession of smuggled betel nuts and brought the same to Gaddani Warehouse.

Customs Enforcement team registered a case against the owner of the godown and started investigations,

It is pertinent to mention here that Collector Imran Bokhari directed all anti-smuggling squads to enhance monitoring and vigilance on the suspected routes in the jurisdiction. He further directed that anyone who found involved in smuggling should be dealt with iron hands.

Due to effective strategy adopted by Collector Imran Bokhari, anti-smuggling operations are being conducted round the clock.
