Collector Irfan Javed’s Quetta Customs seizes smuggled betel nuts, vehicle worth Rs18m

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement and Compliance (E&C) team deputed at Noski Check Post on RCD highway has detained an empty 10 wheeler truck on suspicion of false cavities. Detailed examination of container led to recovery of 4.5 tons betel nuts which was tactfully hidden in the floor and side tanks of the truck.

Sources told Customs Today that on the instruction of Collector Irfan Javed, Deputy Collector Dr. Zohaib is focusing on Noshki check post and record number of cases have been made at Noshki Check Post.

Sources said smugglers were in close contact with notorious smugglers and they were also providing escort to the vehicles smuggled goods and guided such vehicles through unconventional vehicles.
