Customs Preventive seeks Oil Marketing Companies help to stop smuggling of Iranian oil, diesel

KARACHI: The Collector of Model Customs Collectorate-MCC Preventive Syed Muhammad Tariq Huda held a meeting with the main stakeholders of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) at his office.

During the meeting, the Collector MCC-Preventive SM Tariq Huda urged the managements of the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to ensure that the invoices of those OMCs could not be used in any illegal supply of petrol/diesel.

The Collector MCC-Preventive further claimed that the Customs Department is ready to render all out support to the OMCs in uprooting the smuggling of Iranian diesel/petrol.

Huda further advised the management of different OMCs to keep vigilant and attentive in respect of using their invoices in bringing smuggled oil/diesel into the country from different exit points.

During the meeting, Collector-MCC Preventive said that the authorities concerned of the Collectorate have some evidences and information that unscrupulous element taking shelters of the Oil Marketing Companies in bringing smuggled petrol/diesel from one part to another.

On the occasion, the authorities concerned of OMCs had assured that they will extend their full assistance and support to the Customs Department in order to uproot the illegal smuggling of petrol/diesel.
