Collector Mohsin Rafique lauded for helping release containers of electric switches

LAHORE: Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Vice President Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry has lauded Collector Mohsin Rafique for helping release containers of electric switches and sockets stranded at Lahore Dry Port for three months, saving from major damage.

Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry said that as a result of a letter written by the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority in December, the customs authorities had stopped the clearance of imported goods for electric switches and sockets, which not only upset traders and importers.

There was even a severe shortage of electric switches and sockets in the country.  He said that Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry informed Collector Customs Mohsin Rafique about the situation and the concern of the business community who after reviewing all the circumstances released all the containers which saved the business community from huge losses.

Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry also appreciated the efforts of Malik Mohammad Khalid, Executive Committee Member, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Mohammad Arshad Bhatti, Convener, Pak-China Business Council.
