ISLAMABAD: Chief Collector North, Sarwat Tahira Habib has allowed Directorate Customs Intelligence and Investigation Rawalpindi for combine inspection of bolted containers at Sost Dry Port. The assistant collector Sost was also stopped from clearing the bolted containers.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation Rawalpindi team was headed to Gilgit Baltistan and will join Customs Preventive team to inspect 29 imported containers. The special combine team will also review the complaint against mis-declaration of the imported containers and action will be taken against the Assistant Collector of Sost Dry Port if he found guilty.
A total of 30 bolted containers were imported from China and Assistant Collector Sost has made clearance of one container after getting information about mis-declaration. Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Imtiaz Ali Khan has directed the authority concerns to stop Assistant Collector from clearing the remaining containers.
