Collector Raja Tahir issues notices to owner of non duty paid Land Cruiser

FAISALABAD: The Customs Adjudication Collector Raja Tahir Majeed issued a show cause notices to owner of non duty paid Toyota Land Cruiser.

Sources told Customs Today that Mianwali Anti Smuggling Organization intercepted a Toyota Land Cruiser bearing registration no. BF-4209. The ASO team asked the owner Ziaur Rehman son of Zafran Hussain to provide legal documents regarding possession of the vehicle but he remained failed to show any relevant legal documents.

ASO team impounded the vehicle and forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication. Collector Raja Tahir Majeed issued notice Ziaur Rehman.

The adjudication has directed the owner to file his reply within the given time, which is also last date of hearing.

The notices issued on the violation of Section 16, 18 of the Customs Act, 1969 and called upon to show cause as to why the seized item should not be confiscated under provisions of law.

The adjudication authority also directed the owner to provide evidence otherwise the case will be decided on the basis of evidence available on demand. The adjudication also directed the Deputy Collector Rizwan khan to attend the hearing on the schedule date along with relevant record.
