Collector Saleem urges officials to achieve revenue target by end of 3rd quarter

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement (West) Collector Muhammad Saleem on Saturday convened a meeting of additional collectors and deputy collectors of the Collectorate to review the revenue collection performance.

During the meeting, Collector Muhammad Saleem reviewed the revenue performance and the current status of revenue collection for third quarters of the fiscal year 2014-15.

Saleem stressed upon ensuring achievement of revenue target by the end of the third quarters as well with the end of Mrach-15, adding that the authorities concerned should pay special attention towards resolving the revenue issues.

In meeting, Collector Muhammad Saleem also asked about the current status of the revenue recovery cases which are pending in collectorate.

Officials also briefed collector about status regarding compilation of revenue recovery record in which customs officials/officers while following the directives are scrutinizing the recovery record for last two decades.

The MCC Appraisement (West) Collector Muhammad Saleem directed the authorities concerned to ensure early completion of the revenue record with a view to raising demand notices against the defaulters, who cleared their consignments through under-invoicing and mis-declaration.

The meeting was attended by Additional Collector-I Syed Naeem Akhtar, Additional Collector Irfan Wahid, Additional Collector Farrukh Sharif, Deputy Collector Afzaal Ahmed Watto and others.

During the meeting, the introduction session of the newly appointed ADCs Farrukh Sharif and Irfan Wahid was also conducted with the Collector-MCC Appraisement (West) Muhammad Saleem.
